It’s #BookQW and they won’t ‘deny’ Eve!
More from Chapter 47:
(Yes, chapter 47, the only chapter I used this week’s word in. Becasue it’s a bit of a spoiler, I’m keeping the excerpt tight!)
“Of course, I do,” Taior said from behind us. “But Eve, I’m surprised to see you still here.” Taior pulled us aside before Cyrem’s doorstep.
“I, uh…” I couldn’t even say it. I didn’t have to. He knew my fears in an instant.
The Zeffirite elder smiled and patted my hand. “You are welcome to come with us. We want you all as a part of our community. There’s been no talk of restitution for this slip in security of our resources, but certainly the Docga will not deny our request that your triad be permanently appointed with us to help us restore our equanimity.”
“You really think it could happen?”
“Sabein usually has the last word with the Docga. Has for centuries.”
“But she’s never mentioned, or offered…”
Taior gave a one-shoulder shrug. “You never needed her intervention before.”

On a personal note:
I hope you all had a warm and safe Thanksgiving holiday. We did, with a nice gathering of family and friends.
I have tried many side dish recipes over the years and saved the ones we like. My apple pie has turned out well since I began using a mix of cooking apples and Martha Stewart’s Best Apple Pie Recipe. The combination we picked up at the farm market to make it was Stayman, Cortland, Pink Lady and a new cultivar of Granny Smith the farmer recommended –and I can’t recall the name! Yummy! And stayed together quite well.
