Climate Change: “These consequences will face us during our lifetime…”

I would miss seeing this in my neighborhood.

And this.

Or any of the cool interactions I’ve had with our natural world.

I followed the sailing trip a girl took a few weeks ago–and not the one in my novel. With that trip aboard the Malizia II, teen climate activist Greta Thunberg has inspired me to learn more about her passion: Making sure the people in power cannot continue to ignore climate change.

Up to 200 species go extinct every single day.

Every. Single. Day.

Did you know? I didn’t. Or that we will see significant change in our world within the next eight and a half years.

I’m not sure about you all, but I plan to be here—on planet Earth—in 2027. (There is no Planet B.)

Listen to this girl. The main thing she wants people to take away:

“Inform yourself. And try to understand the situation.”

If people who love nature aren’t willing to act for it, who will?

I will join my first #FridaysForFuture strike tomorrow, in Washington, D. C., 11 to 2, in front of the White House.
