The second book in the Emerald Island series takes place to the east, across the Irish Sea, on the Scotland coast.  Tern Bay is an isolated Sapaksan village situated on a basalt cliff beneath the heather covered moor.  A half- kilometer long, crescent-shaped bay with a sandy beach lies below the town suspended on stone columns and wooden balconies.

While her parents go off to Illusion Island in the Mediterranean Sea for a vacation alone, Coral will be spending the week with her older sister, Manta, and her bonding partner, Scoter, who own the local bakery.  It’s there that she meets eighteen-year-old Ty Sterling who moved to town less than a month ago.
