It’s #BookQW and Fern is ‘bending’ to magical ways!

More from Chapter 24:

Raven removed the cage and held out one bundle to Fern. She took the warm weight of the fox, searching Raven’s face, but he wouldn’t meet her gaze. Willow simply waited with her glass globe. Clearly, Raven hadn’t mentioned their conversation.

When he had the second fox in his arms—and his lips pressed tight—Willow linked their arms and teleported them to the edge of another wood. There, Beri waited by a hole in a mound, gripping dirt that had been rolled like a glowing blanket between tree roots.

Supporting the vixen in one arm, Raven folded onto his belly and squirmed forward, scooting the animal into the opening on the towel. He disappeared to his hips before he wiggled out again.

He gestured to Fern. “The other?”

Bending carefully, she handed him the fox. Their gazes met.

Raven’s mouth crooked in a quick smile. Then he was all business again, moving the second fox inside. He backed out more slowly, dragging an orange-brown glow and rising beside Beri. Together, they wove their hands back and forth, releasing the dirt layered between glowing magic that reshaped itself…

Fern had to rub her eyes. This looked so wrong.

Plant yourself in a cozy YA fantasy with magic, wildflower meadow restoration and lots of wildlife interactions!

This fantasy adventure is available wherever ebooks are sold!

Paperbacks also!

On a personal note:

We had beautiful weather for the Gaithersburg Book Festival and about 20,000 visitors. My beautiful paperbacks sold well and I’m looking forward to my next book fair in Fredericksburg. It’s always a bit of a jolt to see my books on display–they are real, I’m reminded!

It’s always fun to meet new readers, and especially to talk to young writers. If you’re coming to the Fredericksburg Independent Book Festival on June 17, please stop by and say hi!
