It’s #BookQW and Cor yearns to ‘join’ to save the ancient trees.

More from Chapter 26:

“I have already determined that you are a hard worker,” Lady Pina said, “the first of my requirements. I have witnessed that you have learned the traditional Energy Songs needed to integrate your energy with that of Giuthas’ ancient pines, my second requirement. That leaves my third requirement, your spiritual presence being fully joined to the pinewoods. This is how you execute the energy methods on your own, the decisions you make and your success in carrying out your energy work in this habitat. Today’s test will be in three sections. The first is to grow a Scots’ pine of at least thirty feet in height.”

Whew. He nodded.

“I hope I have given you enough choice.” Lady Pina gestured to the bowl. “If not, ask for more. Pick one to sprout—or sprout several—and determine which you’d like to grow.”

He nodded again. That sounded reasonable.

“It must be viable.”

He looked around the clearing. “This spot has plenty of space for another tree. Do you mean it could stay here?”

“Exactly. It must be connected to this habitat. Not isolated within your energy.”

“Got it.”

On a personal note:

Last week, I was lucky enough to have an adventure in Disneyworld with my mom and daughter, including visiting the Tree of Life.

When selecting this passage and thinking about Cor’s adventures, my thoughts jumped to this specific Disney feature. Its wildlife carvings are so intertwined, representing the interdependency of life on Earth.

This message is so important for today’s stressed natural world, and what I hope I conveyed in independent Cor’s growing relationship with his mentor Lady Pina and the residents of the Isle of Giuthas.
