Extra details about Guardian of the Pines

I suspect a lot of book-lovers are checking me out after seeing my BookBub new release feature for Guardian of the Pines. Welcome! I’m so excited I was picked for this promotion and happy you’re here to visit! Here are some quick notes:

  • Pines is the second novel in The Windborne series. All are listed on My Books page with excerpts.
  • You don’t need to have read the first book (The Witch of the Meadows) to enjoy Guardian of the Pines. Reviews on Goodreads verify that.
  • That said, Pines has 2 main characters, each with their own problems that intersect. Cor is new in this book, and Fern was the heroine of Book 1 and her adventures continue in Book 2.
  • Cor’s story is an outdoor adventure with nature and magic, and a sweet gay romance. More about how I came to write an LGBT character is in my Guest Post on Joyfully Jay’s blog.
  • Cor is black and gay. I am not. I worked with 3 sensitivity readers until both they and I were happy with the story. Any remaining mistakes are my own.
  • It’s also in paperback. (ISBN: 9781943469154 ~ Have your library order a copy!)
  • Book 3 in the series, Lost Whisperer of the Seas, is available to preorder and will release July 17, 2019.
  • Book 4 in the series, Keepers of the Sea Cliffs, will release in the fall of 2019.
  • I’m writing more novels in the series, likely 7-8. They are almost clean (a few mild curses like damn) and appropriate for ages 12/13-100!
  • If you want notification of these releases, subscribe to this blog in the footer of any page or join my mailing list. It’s newsy but short; past newsletters are linked on my Extras page. If you only want the release announcement, follow me on Amazon or BookBub.
  • I have a free ebook in another series: The Unraveling is available on all retailers. It is the first volume of The Luminated Threads, an epic fantasy across three novels.
  • If you enjoy my novels, please consider leaving a review on the site you bought the book, on Goodreads or BookBub. I’m an indie author and trying to build my platform so I’ll be picked for BookBub promotions in the future. Except for a ‘new release feature’ like this one, a book has to have 30-50 reviews to be considered. I’d appreciate your help to get there!
